Caring for older patients

There are lots of resources and help out there for carers of older people and those with dementia. Here are some that may be useful:

• The Alzheimers Society website has lots of support and information for carers.
• AGE UK offer practical and emotional support to carers, as well as opportunities for respite.
• The umbrella organisation for supporting carers in Shropshire is currently CarersTrust4All.

The Alzheimers Society also puts on Dementia Cafés which provide information about living with dementia and other services available locally in an informal and comfortable environment.

A Dementia Café is also a place to relax, socialise and meet other people with dementia and their carers. Oswestry Dementia Café is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 10.30am to 12.30pm at:
